warranty for my car?

on the warranty handbook, it says:
What is covered:
Items subject to normal wear
Items that are subject to deterioration due to normal wear, driving habits or conditions are only covered for defects in manufacturer's material and workmanship for 12 months or 12,000miles, whichever occurs first. These items include, but are not limited to, clutch discs and linings, brake discs, brake pads, windshielf wiper blades, bulbs, filters, belts, batteries, paint finish, worn upholstery, and other trim and appearance items.
What is not covered:
Paint repair
Your authorized Audi dealer will do its best to match your vehicle's orginal finish. The cost of painting the entire vehicle solely for paint matching is not covered by this warranty.

No. I am a consultant for Mercedes-Benz and BMW dealerships. I've worked with Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and Porsche dealerships; specifically in manufacturer warranty and I have never heard or seen any of these high dollar manufacturers warranty a paint chip.

The only exception would be if the chip was caused by a poor paint at the manufacturer plant, i.e. cracking, loose paint; I have yet to see this happen to the vehicles listed above.

Also, if a dealer had caused the paint chip or if it happened during intial transportation from the manufacturer plant; then it would be repaired for free but would still NOT be a warrantable repair. The cost would be absorbed by the dealer or a claim would be filed against the transport company.

There are still other instances where a customer will just make a lot of noise (not necessarily sense) and the dealer will do the repair free of charge and absorb the cost just to keep the customer happy. Personally, I find this type of this kind of behavior (from the customer) very disappointing.

You have a very fine automobile with a great warranty that covers many things, except the ocassional paint chip; normally caused by circumstances out of the manufacturer's control.
