HISTORY
Golf cut was not a new idea when the Scirocco was launched in 2008. The first car to carry the Scirocco name (derived from the Sirocco, Italian for the wind, if you're interested) was launched in 1974 and focuses on mechanical Golf MK1. It was replaced in 1982 by a very revamped Scirocco mk2 who share the same platform. The Scirocco has not disappeared from the range until 1988 when the Volkswagen Corrado arrived on the platform for the Golf mk2 replace, but when the production of this car stopped in 1996, so do the emerging dynasty of combining basic golf cars with body cut.
