audi remote central locking?

my central locking wont work unless im in the car or i put the fob against the window,iv changed the battery,and redone the pairing of the fob and car but it still wont work unless its right up against the car...any ideas

The aerial wire on the controller is either broken, or coiled up.

You need to track down where it is and then replace, or extend the wire.

I fitted remote locking to my S2 Avant a while back and ran the aerial cable up the A pillar and along the roof line to the rear of the car. I could open and close the car easily from over 20 metres away.

Your biggest problem will be finding the box. A dealer may be able to help you, but they'd probably charge you a small fortune for the pleasure. Try asking an alarm fitter if they can tell you where to look. They know where all the electrical gadgets live.
